Happiness

Where Moodstep began: a 2009 quest for what makes people happy.

Moodstep started in English. On January 1, 2009, I opened this blog with a simple intention: to pay tribute to the people who raise the happiness level on the planet, no matter what. The plan was to go and meet people in different corners of the world and ask them what the keys to their happiness are.

That quest became the Happyviews, short video interviews filmed along the way: entrepreneurs at the Advancia incubator in Paris, carpoolers in France, then Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade. Between two trips, I explored happiness through books, science and philosophy: its chemistry, Schopenhauer, Ayurveda, compassion, happiness at school, and whether happiness can be measured at all.

In October 2009, most of my readers were in France. I asked them which language they preferred, and the blog switched to French. One later conversation joined this collection: my 2014 interview with Amin Sheikh, from the streets of Bombay to Barcelona, recorded in English.
